-Treatment
Philosophy
Dr Morrow believes that people suffer from
psychological distress for a variety of reasons, including the
systems they interact with such as, home, school, work, and
other institutions, family of origin issues and trauma,
biological and genetic factors, and cognitive distortions
leading to faulty and maladaptive thinking. Dr. Morrow
further believes that clients can achieve psychological
well-being by gaining insight into how one’s past may affect
one’s present and future, and how the systems in one’s life can
impact how one views self and the world. In addition, she
believes that important for clients to confront cognitive
distortions, faulty and maladaptive thoughts in order to have a
more positive outlook of self and the
world.
-Teaching
Philosophy
Dr. Morrow
believes that learning is best achieved by both didactic and
experiential techniques and strategies in a supportive and
nurturing learning environment where students are encouraged to
participate and are validated for the experience and knowledge
they bring into the classroom.
-Training
Philosophy
As a trainer
and workshop facilitator, Dr. Morrow believes that these
activities must include both didactic and experiential
activities along with the use of technology.
Dr. Morrow
further believes that training especially in the are of
multiculturalism, must begin with creating a safe environment
where participants will feel safe enough to express their true
thoughts, belief, feelings, and
fears.
